Communications

The Communications module provides multi-channel outreach — email campaigns, SMS messaging, surveys, and automation rules — from a single interface. Target specific member segments or broadcast to your entire membership.

Email Campaigns

Navigate to Communications → Campaigns to create and send emails:

  1. Click New Campaign
  2. Select a template or start from scratch
  3. Compose your email with the rich-text editor — supports images, buttons, and dynamic merge fields (member name, tier, etc.)
  4. Choose your audience — all members, a specific tier, a saved segment, or a manual selection
  5. Preview the email with sample member data
  6. Send immediately or schedule for a future date and time

After sending, track:

  • Delivery rate, open rate, and click rate
  • Individual member engagement (who opened, who clicked)
  • Bounce and unsubscribe events

Email Templates

Create reusable templates for common communications:

  • Welcome emails for new members
  • Renewal reminders
  • Event invitations and follow-ups
  • Newsletter layouts
  • Payment receipts and dunning notices

Navigate to Communications → Templates to manage your template library.

SMS Messaging

Send text messages to members with configured phone numbers:

  1. Navigate to Communications → SMS
  2. Compose your message (160 character limit for standard SMS)
  3. Select recipients
  4. Send or schedule

SMS Keywords: Set up keyword-triggered auto-responses. When a member texts a keyword to your AMS phone number, they receive an automatic reply. Use this for event RSVPs, quick polls, or information requests.

ℹ️SMS requires phone numbers to be configured in Communications → Phone Setup. Contact support or configure in Settings to allocate phone numbers for your organization.

Surveys

Create surveys to collect member feedback:

  1. Navigate to Communications → Surveys and click New Survey
  2. Add questions — multiple choice, free text, rating scales, or dropdowns
  3. Set the distribution method — embed in email, share via link, or post on portal
  4. Collect responses and view results in the survey analytics dashboard

Survey responses link back to the member profile for cross-referencing with engagement data.

Automation Rules

Set up trigger-action pairs that run automatically:

Navigate to Communications → Automations to create rules. Each rule has a trigger, optional conditions (e.g., only for Gold tier), and one or more actions.

Phone and IVR

For organizations using integrated telephony:

  • Call Sessions — Track inbound and outbound calls with notes and outcomes
  • IVR Configuration — Set up interactive voice response menus for your main phone number
  • Call Analytics — Monitor call volume, duration, and outcomes
  • Outreach Hub — Staff workspace for SMS conversations, shared inbox, and task queue

Navigate to Communications → Phone Setup to configure your phone system, allocate numbers, and set up IVR menus.
