Getting Started as a Practitioner

This guide walks you through joining MSP Collective as a practitioner — browsing the marketplace, writing reviews, earning badges, and getting the most out of the community.

Create Your Account

  1. Go to mspcollective.io and click Register
  2. Enter your email and create a password, or sign in with Microsoft 365 to skip email verification
  3. Complete email verification if you registered with email
  4. Set up TOTP multi-factor authentication — this is mandatory for all accounts

You start at Trust Level 0 (New) with read access and limited posting. Participate in the community to increase your trust level and unlock features.

Browse the Marketplace

Click Marketplace in the navigation to browse vendor products. You can:

  • Search by keyword or product name
  • Filter by category — 17 categories including RMM, PSA, Backup, Security, Cloud, VoIP, and more
  • Sort by rating, recency, or relevance
  • View vendor profiles — See company details, review summaries, and all listed products

Each listing shows the vendor's tier badge, average rating, and category tags.

Leave Your First Review

Once you've used a vendor's product, share your experience:

  1. Navigate to the vendor's profile or product listing
  2. Click Write a Review
  3. Rate the product across six dimensions:
    • Overall (1–5 stars, required)
    • Support Quality (1–5 stars)
    • Value for Money (1–5 stars)
    • Ease of Use (1–5 stars)
    • Reliability (1–5 stars)
    • Onboarding (1–5 stars)
  4. Add a written review: title, pros, cons, and your experience details
  5. Indicate your time as customer, company size, and whether you'd recommend the product
  6. Submit — your review enters a moderation queue before appearing publicly

You earn 5 reputation points for each published review. Only verified practitioner accounts can submit reviews, and you can review each vendor once.
