How Badge Awards Work
The system checks your milestones when you perform qualifying actions. You can also trigger a manual check from your profile.
When you earn a badge:
- The badge appears on your profile
- You receive a notification
- If you hit a major milestone, a celebration is generated that can appear in the community feed
- Your badge count updates on the leaderboard
Displaying Badges
Badges appear in several places:
- Your profile — All earned badges are shown in a badge gallery
- Discussion posts — Your top badges appear next to your name
- Leaderboard — Badge count contributes to your ranking visibility
Badge Notifications
You're notified immediately when you earn a new badge. The notification includes which badge you earned, the criteria you met, and a link to view it on your profile.
Milestone Celebrations
When you hit significant milestones (not just badge thresholds), the system generates celebration messages. These appear in your activity feed and can be shared with the community. You can view your celebrations and milestones at Profile → Achievements.
