Brand Import
Brand Import lets you extract a brand identity from an existing logo file or website URL, then recreate or refine it within Brand. It uses Claude Vision AI to analyze visual inputs — identifying colors, shapes, typography style, and overall aesthetic.
When to Use Brand Import
- Existing clients with logos: Upload the logo to extract colors and style, then generate complementary assets
- Competitor/inspiration research: Analyze a reference brand and use its visual DNA as a starting point
- Brand refresh: Extract the existing identity, get an audit report, then iterate on improvements
- Website-to-brand extraction: Crawl an existing website to pull the full visual identity automatically
Import from Image
- Navigate to Brand Library → Create Brand
- Select Import from Files
- Upload 1–3 image files:
- Logo files: SVG, PNG, JPG, PDF (at least 200×200px for best results)
- Optionally include additional brand assets (brochures, letterheads) for more context
- Click Analyze
Claude Vision analyzes each image and extracts:
- Dominant colors (with exact hex codes)
- Color roles (which colors appear primary vs. accent vs. background)
- Shape language (geometric / organic / angular / circular)
- Typography style (serif / sans-serif / display / hand-lettered — even if the font isn't identified by name)
- Overall aesthetic (Modern, Classic, Playful, Technical, etc.)
- Confidence score per extracted element
Import from Domain URL
- Navigate to Brand Library → Create Brand → Import from Domain
- Enter the website URL (e.g.,
https://clientwebsite.com) - Click Start Import
Brand crawls the site (up to 10 pages) and extracts:
- All unique colors used in the CSS and rendered HTML
- Logo files detected via
<img>tags, SVG elements, and meta tags - Font stack from CSS
- Favicon
The extracted data is shown in a review step — confirm which elements to import before creating the brand.
Reviewing the Analysis
After analysis, the Analysis Review page shows:
- Detected logo: The primary logo candidate (click to select a different candidate if multiple were found)
- Color palette: All extracted colors with assigned roles — drag to reassign roles
- Typography: Detected font names or style descriptions
- Style tags: AI-generated aesthetic descriptors
Editing the analysis before creating the brand:
- Click any color swatch to edit the hex value
- Click Reassign Role to change a color from "secondary" to "primary", etc.
- Remove colors you don't want imported
- Edit the typography if the auto-detection was incorrect
When satisfied, click Create Brand from Analysis.
Recreate from Analysis
After analysis, instead of directly creating the brand, you can use the analysis to generate new logo concepts:
- On the Analysis Review page, click Recreate with AI
- Claude AI uses the extracted color palette, shape language, and style to generate 5 new logo concepts that match the analyzed aesthetic
- Select a concept or use it as input for the full AI Wizard
This is useful when:
- The original logo is low-resolution or vector-less (can't be exported cleanly)
- The client wants a fresh logo that maintains their current brand feel
- You want to generate variation options from the existing style
Generate Variations
Generate alternative logo designs from the analyzed brand DNA:
- On the Analysis Review page, click Generate Variations
- The AI produces 5 logo variations that are distinct but share the same visual DNA (color family, style, aesthetic)
- Present variations to the client for selection
Brand Audit Report
For an existing brand, generate a written audit report:
- On the Analysis Review page, click Generate Audit
- The AI analyzes the brand across:
- Color consistency: Are colors used consistently across pages?
- Logo quality: Is the logo vector-based? Is it used at appropriate sizes? Are there distorted or pixelated instances?
- Typography legibility: Are font sizes and contrast ratios accessible?
- Visual cohesion: Does the brand feel consistent across different assets?
- Modern appeal: How does the brand compare to current design trends in the industry?
- The report is generated as a PDF with a summary score, per-category ratings, and specific recommendations
- Download and use as a sales tool to propose brand refresh services to clients
Multi-File Brand Import
Import multiple files from an existing brand package (e.g., a brand guide PDF plus logo files):
- Brand Library → Create Brand → Import Files
- Upload multiple files: logo SVGs, brand guide PDF, letterhead, business card scans
- The AI processes all files together to build a more comprehensive brand record
- Review and confirm the extracted values
Accepted formats: SVG, PNG, JPG, PDF, ZIP (containing any of the above)
After Importing
Once a brand is created from an import:
- It appears in the Brand Library with an "Imported" badge
- Complete any missing elements (voice settings, tagline, missing logo variants) in Brand Settings
- Generate collateral to produce new branded assets in the imported style
- Propagate the brand to apply it across the One Stack
Limitations
- Image quality: Very low-resolution logos (under 100×100px) or heavily compressed JPGs may produce inaccurate color extraction
- Embedded fonts: If a logo has text, the font name may not be identified if it's a custom or obscure typeface — the AI identifies the style category (e.g., "geometric sans-serif") but not the exact font family
- Website crawl depth: Domain imports crawl up to 10 pages — large sites with many unique color variants may not capture all colors
- PDF parsing: Brand guide PDFs with complex layouts may extract partial information — review carefully before creating the brand
