Template Library

The Template Library is the central repository of reusable legal document templates available to your MSP. Templates are created and maintained by your attorney partner, and you can deploy them to client organizations as client policies.

Browsing Templates

Navigate to Policies → Template Library to see all available templates.

Previewing a Template

  1. Click any template in the library to open the preview panel
  2. The preview shows the full rendered document with placeholder variables shown in {{brackets}}
  3. Use the Version History tab to see previous versions and what changed
ℹ️

Template previews show the document with all variables unfilled. When you deploy a template to a client, the Policy Creation Wizard prompts you to fill in each variable.

Template Variables and Sections

Each template is composed of:

  • Sections — Named content blocks (e.g., "Payment Terms", "Liability Limitations") that can be reordered or hidden per deployment
  • Variables — Placeholders like {{client_name}}, {{effective_date}}, {{service_tier}} that are filled in per client during deployment
  • Questions — Conditional logic questions that determine which optional sections appear (e.g., "Does this client process PHI?" enables the HIPAA section)

Deploying a Template to a Client

From the Template Library:

  1. Click Deploy to Client on any published template
  2. The Policy Creation Wizard opens
  3. Follow the wizard to assign the template to a client organization and fill in variables

Creating a New Template (Attorney Only)

ℹ️

Only attorney partners can create and publish templates. MSP users with Admin roles can view and deploy templates but cannot edit them.

  1. Click New Template in the top-right corner
  2. Enter the template Name, Category, and optional Description
  3. Click Add Section to add content blocks — each section has a title and rich text body
  4. Insert variables by typing {{variable_name}} anywhere in the section body
  5. Add questions under the Questions tab to enable conditional sections
  6. Set the template visibility:
    • Private — Only visible to your attorney account
    • Published — Available for MSP deployment
  7. Click Publish to make the template available

Editing Published Templates

When you edit a published template:

  1. The system creates a new draft version automatically
  2. The current published version remains available for new deployments until the new version is published
  3. Edit the sections, variables, and questions
  4. Click Publish — a Version Notes dialog asks you to describe what changed
  5. The new version is now available; existing deployed policies are not automatically updated
⚠️

Existing client policies that were deployed from an older template version are not automatically updated when a new version is published. You must re-assign the policy to each client to apply the updated version.

Version History

Every published version is preserved permanently. To view version history:

  1. Open a template
  2. Click the Version History tab
  3. Each version shows: version number, publish date, who published it, and the change notes
  4. Click any version to see the full document at that point in time

Adoption Tracking

Published templates show an Adoption count — how many client policies have been deployed from this template. Click the count to see which clients are on which version.
