Billing
The One Legal is a subscription product billed through The One Stack Hub. Pricing covers platform access, policy management, document vault, and compliance tracking. Attorney retainer fees are billed separately between your MSP and your attorney partner — the platform does not take a cut.

The $249/mo covers your MSP's use of the platform. Attorney retainer fees are separate — they are agreed directly between you and your attorney partner. Retainer payments are processed by Stripe Connect and paid 100% to the attorney — the platform takes no percentage.

Usage-Based Items
The following are metered but included in the base plan up to fair-use thresholds:

Most MSPs never hit these thresholds. If you do, your Hub billing dashboard shows a warning.
Billing Cycle
- Subscription billing is monthly
- Charged on the same day each month as your initial activation
- Add-ons are prorated when added mid-cycle
- Usage overages are billed the following month
Viewing Your Legal Usage
- Log in to Hub at
app.theonestack.com - Navigate to Billing
- Click the Usage tab
- Select Legal from the product filter
Usage data shown:
- Policy assignments this period
- AI generations used vs. included
- Attorney seats active
- Add-ons active
Managing Your Subscription
All subscription changes are made in Hub:
- Navigate to Billing → Products
- Find The One Legal in your subscription list
- Click Manage
- Add or remove add-ons, or cancel the subscription
Changes take effect at the start of the next billing period. Cancellations are effective at the end of the current period — you retain full access until then.
Attorney Payouts
Attorney retainer payments flow through the platform's Stripe Connect integration:
- Your monthly retainer fees are invoiced through the platform
- Payment is processed via your stored payment method in Hub
- Funds are disbursed 100% to the attorney's linked Stripe account
- The platform takes no percentage of attorney fees
- Payout timing: 1st of each month (2–5 business days for bank transfer)
Overage hours beyond the retainer's included hours are added to the monthly payout and charged to the same payment method.
Cancellation Policy
If you cancel The One Legal:
- Access continues through the end of your current billing period
- Your documents, signed policies, and matter records are retained for 90 days in an export-only state
- You can download all documents from the vault during the 90-day window
- After 90 days, all data is permanently deleted
Download all signed documents and compliance records before your 90-day export window closes. Signed legal documents have permanent legal validity — you are responsible for your own long-term record retention after cancellation.
